Special Educational Needs - Case Study

This study describes and explores Asperger's Syndrome - part of the Autistic Spectrum (ASD) - as it has affected a First Year student (13 years old) and his specific needs. The student was recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, having undergone consultation with a clinical specialist psychologist. The aim of this research is to highlight some of the characteristics of Asperger's Syndrome. The study was carried out in partial fulfillment of the Professional Masters of Education course, and is summarised in the video below.

The presentation below also outlines some appropriate teaching strategies that were successfully implemented throughout an eight- week printmaking scheme, to cater for the student.
