Combined Learning Artefact
The following report was conducted in relation to a printmaking scheme with a First Year group in 2017. The report focuses on the strategies that were employed throughout the duration of the project; planning, teaching, assessing, and reflecting. Using Stephen Brookfield's (1995) Four Critically Reflective Lenses to gather data, the research sought to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of these aspects of teaching. Included below are four presentations, which summarise the main findings of the project.
Planning
Throughout the planning stages, the various elements of the project were devised; in terms of the aims and learning outcomes, subject matter, teaching and learning strategies, visual aids and resources, and timeline of activities. The presentation demonstrates an evaluation of this aspect of teaching - regarding what actually transpired throughout the project.
Teaching
This presentation outlines the pedagogical strategies that were employed throughout the project. Focusing on my demonstration and questioning methods, the effectiveness of my approach to teaching is considered, along with its implications for students' learning.
Assessing
In this section, the assessment stage of the project is evaluated. Both formative and summative assessment strategies are considered in terms of their effectiveness and appropriateness for this particular scheme.
Reflecting
This presentation considers the strengths and weaknesses of my ability to reflect throughout the project. Drawing similarities and differences in comparison to my professional practice, the concept, knowledge, skills, and attitude domains of the project are reflected on and evaluated.
